Everywhere You Can Get Free Food on Tax Day 2025

April 15 is Tax Day, which means the inevitability of an onslaught of stress and confusion among millions of Americans.

Luckily, brands and companies have implemented deals and discounts to make the numbers-heavy day a little sweeter. Spend your money at one of these chains below and you might be entitled to a free sandwich, a discounted check or even a free second meal for you to indluge in later on.

Checkers & Rally’s

On April 15, diners can choose between a Crispy Fish sandwich or a Spicy Chicken sandwich for just $3.

Olive Garden

Tax Day falls during the chain’s “Buy One, Take One” promotion that runs from March 24 to May 4. During the selected dates, guests can choose one menu ready-to-eat menu item while the dine in-restaurant and take another one home for later for free. This year, the menu options for the in-restaurant entrees are: Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, Angel Hair with Marinara, Four-Cheese Manicotti, Fettucine Alredo (+$3), Spaghetti & Meatballs (+$4), Lasagna Classico (+$4), Chicken Parmigiana (+$7). The options for the second take-home option are Fettucine Alfredo, Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, or Five Cheese Ziti al Forno.

Smoothie King

On April 15, Smoothie King Healthy Rewards Members will receive $3 off any $15 purchase and $4 off of any $20 purchase. 

Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme customers who purchase a box of a dozen doughnuts will relieve a second box of a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for the price of just the sales tax. Online shoppers can enter the code TAXBREAK to receive a second Original Glazed dozen for free after placing an order for a dozen doughnuts of any variety. 

Buffalo Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings will continue its month-long list of promotions in April during Tax Day. Throughout the month, BWW Rewards members can cash in for a free sandwich after spending $15.

California Pizza Kitchen

From April 14 to April 17, California Pizza Kitchen Rewards members will get $10 off any $40 purchase in all locations except those in Hawaii.

Grimaldi’s

On April 15, Grimaldi’s customers will get $10.40 off of any purchase of $30 or more by using the code TAXDAY25 in all locations except those in New York, New Jersey, Flagstaff, Arizona or Las Vegas Palazzo. The code can’t be combined with any other pre-existing deals or promotions.

Hooters

On Tax Day, customers can use the Hooters app to check which select appetizers will be offered at just $4.15 at participating locations. Options include mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, chips with queso, buffalo shrimp and more.
