Residents of a high-rise society in Sohna, Haryana, were left stunned as a covert operation involving the supply of raw meat came to light, leading to a police crackdown. A couple residing in Global Heights Society near Dhunela allegedly orchestrated the clandestine trade, sourcing the raw meat from Mewat and distributing it through food delivery agents. The revelation sparked an uproar, drawing intervention from law enforcement and local activist groups.

The racket was exposed when security guards at the gated society intercepted two food delivery personnel, who were found carrying suspicious packages. Upon questioning, the delivery boys revealed that they were picking up the parcels from a woman known for selling momos. This led the security team to alert the police, who arrived at the scene to investigate further.

The police confiscated two sacks of raw meat, weighing approximately 40 kg, from the delivery personnel and sent the samples to a laboratory for testing. The Bhondsi police, which took swift action upon being informed, detained the two Swiggy-affiliated delivery agents along with the husband-wife duo allegedly behind the operation. The nature of the meat, whether bovine or otherwise, will be determined through forensic analysis.

As news of the incident spread, members of the Gau Raksha Dal reached the residential complex and staged a protest, demanding strict action against those involved. Investigations suggest that the accused couple had been operating the meat supply business from their apartment, sourcing the product from Rozka Mev in Nuh and distributing it across various areas in Gurgaon through delivery services.

Eyewitnesses reported that at approximately 5:00 AM, two men wearing Swiggy jackets entered the society premises. Their suspicious behaviour caught the attention of security personnel, who decided to inspect their bags before they could exit. Upon checking, security officers Satvir Khatana and Bharat discovered the concealed meat packets inside the delivery bags. The officers immediately notified the police and the Cow Task Force.

A medical examiner was called to the scene to assess the confiscated meat, while police began questioning the suspects. Preliminary reports suggest that the woman, a resident of the society for three years and originally from West Bengal, was running a momos stall near the society. Her husband, meanwhile, worked as a car washer within the complex. It is believed that the couple used their apartment as a storage facility for the meat before distributing it through delivery networks.

Police station in-charge Chandrabhan confirmed that the case is under active investigation.
